Updating IntoScience

Current version of IntoScience: v1.7

If you’re using an older version of IntoScience, we recommend you upgrade ASAP.

1 – Updating the Client Software

Windows Application

For all versions of Windows (apart from Windows RT)

For individual installation: Simply download and install the newest version of IntoScience.

If you’re a school IT admin, please use the Windows app network install instructions with proxy configuration.

Apple OS X Application

Download the latest OS X app here.

For individual installations, simply re-install the new version.

If you’re a school IT admin, distribute it using your IT management software.

Web Browsers (other than Google Chrome and Safari)

The Web Client itself will update automatically the next time you sign in.

If you’re a school IT admin, it’s worth updating the Unity plugin across your network by using our batch installers (Windows OSApple OS X)

 

Google Chrome

As of September 1 2015, IntoScience on Chrome will automatically update.

 

Safari

As of Dec 2015, you can run IntoScience on Safari without any additional software installed.

 

Apple iOS – iPad App

IntoScience’s iPad app will automatically update via the App Store.

Windows Store App

For Windows RT, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

IntoScience’s Windows Store App will automatically update via the App Store.

We’re currently investigating the best way for schools to update on all computers using the Windows Store App, and will update this page shortly.

2 - Updating the School Local Content Server

When there’s a new version of IntoScience, your local hosting files need to be updated.
